The Wisconsin Junior Hereford Association is sponsoring a $400 scholarship for one Wisconsin
Junior to attend the Faces of Leadership Conference. FOL is an activity that helps juniors
develop leadership skills and meet fellow Hereford juniors from around the country. This year
FOL will be held on July 28-31 in Forth Worth, Texas. Junior members, aged 14-21, from all parts
of the country participate in the event each year. During the three-day event, close to 100
participants listen to nationally known speakers and participate in junior board workshops,
which assist in the enhancement of the individual's leadership talents, communication skills and
beef industry knowledge. If you are a member of the WJHA and are interested in attending this
year, please visit www.wisconsinherefords.org or contact BJ Jones at [email protected] for a
scholarship application.
Applications are due June 15, 2024.

Wisconsin had 130 head of cattle and 61 exhibitors at the “Mad Dash to the Hereford Bash” Junior National Hereford Expo, Madison, Wisconsin, July 8 – July 14.
The Wisconsin juniors hosted/sponsored three very successful programs to welcome other juniors to our state;
Goose Chase Scavenger Hunt – 32 teams of 10 juniors each spent the first three days of JNHE completing challenges, hunting for items like a cheese head and searching out other juniors that fit a set profile. Awards were given to the top three teams. We heard many great comments back about how much fun this activity was!
Taste of Wisconsin Fun Night – Wisconsin helped host the meal for all 1500 attendees of the Mad Dash to the Hereford Bash. This special meal wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of the Donation Heifer program! Thank you to all who support our juniors.
Queen’s Tea stuffed animals – The WJHA sponsored the stuffed animals Queen Madison Katzenberger gave to each participant in the Queen’s Tea. Every young lady took home a special friend as a reminder of their time at the event.
